A 'Brutally Vibrant' series in acrylic and collage. Abstracts layer & wrap themselves around 20cm box canvases. The edges (though not visible here) are as relevant as the front. They are an interpretation of a kind of limbo. A 'not so' patient waiting in anticipation & loving respect. An attempt to embrace those excited but pensive moments In-between. Walls obscure & windows fail to reveal or reflect but rather create tension & a sense of solitary anticipation...

'Jacob's ladder'

This multi media series comprises of dreamlike snap shots with meditatively selected words. Windows, doors, staircases and glimmers of light blindly lead the way requiring trust in the process and illustrating a longing faith in a higher power connecting Heaven and Earth.​

'Fragile Peace'

This multimedia panoramic illustrates the coexistence of peace and devastation within the same world and mind, symbolizing the hope that peace will emerge from chaos, represented by the white poppy held in the figure's hand as she passes through the veil and ventures into darkness.

Alongside my more meditative, abstract work, I am drawn to painting natural objects and exploring their symbolism. I am first attracted to their visual qualities, and then I research their meanings, which often becomes a source of inspiration.
Echinacea...
a flower with a sea urchin-like centre, symbolizes strength, resilience, and endurance. Long valued as a natural remedy, it reflects nature’s healing power and continues to play a role in modern medicine. Used to treat ailments such as colds, sore throats, toothaches, wounds, and stomach issues, it represents both physical healing and inner strength—the ability to remain resilient in difficult conditions.
